Yesterday was movie night aboard the International Space Station, and the astronauts’ choice of flick might just surprise you. One would think they’d opt for a feel-good family feature to remind them of home, or maybe a superhero blockbuster to help keep them motivated and inspired, right? That’s not the case for these space travelers.
Instead, they selected quite possibly the one film you probably really shouldn’t watch as you’re floating through outer space: Alfonso Cuarón’s Oscar-winning Gravity. It’s a brave choice, and, as one person pointed out, just about as meta as watching Titanic while vacationing on a cruise ship. Here’s hoping no one on ISS lost their sh*t or saw visions of Matt Kowalski after show time.
