The rumors that the DC Universe was seeking its very own blue-eyed Chris — in the form of Chris Pine — started circulating earlier this year when Pine was said to be talking about taking the lead role in the new Green Lantern movie, playing Hal Jordan. A couple of months after that, it was a different DC movie that Pine was being attached to: this time it was Wonder Woman, playing Diana Prince’s love interest Steve Trevor. But was the latter rumor a diversion from the first one?
Because now, Latino Review is saying that Warner Bros. might even have two Green Lantern actors in mind to play both Hal Jordan and John Stewart and they could debut at this year’s DC panel at San Diego Comic-Con. LR explains, to the best of their ability, how both Green Lanterns can be happening in the same movie universe:
Apparently, some story-world approved reason why they both exist will be explained, like having Stewart be the backup Lantern while Jordan’s on the JLA or having them be Lanterns from different sectors.
It’s a lot to take in, and a large grain of salt should be taken along with it. But LR feels confident in saying that at the very least, the two roles are “locked down,” though it may not be by Pine and, possibly, Tyrese as John Stewart.
But again: this is a hard “maybe.”
