First, the good news: According to the Hollywood Reporter, Ilana Glazer and Abbi Jacobson of Broad City have sold an untitled comedy project to 20th Century Fox, with Paul Feig attached to produce, along with his partner Jessie Henderson. The less than good news is that, while details of the project are reportedly being held under “lock an key,” as of now, Glazer and Jacobson will only write the script and are not attached to star in the film. They both write and star in Broad City together, of course.
It seems like a natural fit, with Feig long since having settled into the niche of female-driven, feature-length comedies, but I’m a little disappointed that we presumably won’t see an Abbi and Ilana stoner comedy on the big screen anytime soon. With that said, though, it’s great to see these women kicking ass behind the scenes. White power suits for everyone!
