Variety is reporting that Kaley Cuoco and John Krasinski are joining an all-star voice cast for a movie about… animal crackers! And you thought Hollywood was all out of ideas! Okay, maybe they are, but someone made the mistake of going to the grocery store while hungry and now there is going to be a movie about snacks. I’m not even kidding. Here is the plot:
The film is about a family whose life is turned upside down when they inherit a rundown circus and a mysterious box of Animal Crackers, which magically change the person who eats them into an animal.
A couple of questions: Was the box of animal crackers found in the “rundown circus,” and if the circus was so “rundown,” how long, exactly, have those animal crackers been sitting around, getting disgusting? And the movie hinges on people eating them? Does every member of the family have pica?
Serious queries aside, Animal Crackers is being directed by animator Scott Christian Sava and Tony Bancroft (Mulan) with a script by Sava and Dean Lorey. Cuoco and Krasinski will star alongside the likes of Sir Ian McKellen, Danny DeVito, Sylvester Stallone, Gilbert Gottfried, Raven-Symone, the smooth vocal styling of Patrick Warburton, and the not-as-smooth-but-still-entertaining voice of Harvey Fierstein.
Hey, I think a lot of us had doubts about The LEGO Movie, right? This is… this could be kinda like that…
