Yes, you read that correctly; Ryan Reynolds says that… Deadpool will be streaming two weeks before it’s available on home video. The recent, R-rated masterwork in mature superhero cinema wowed audiences earlier this year, raking in more money than anyone in Hollywood ever thought that an R-rated movie could and it will be released on home video on May 10th. Of course, as we’ve seen become increasingly more common of late, movies tend to be released on streaming outlets a bit earlier than that.
According to ComicBookResources, we can expect to see Deadpool available through all of our favorite online shops on Tuesday, April 26th. In an increasingly digital, disc-less world the powers-that-be keep pushing us all towards making digital purchases because seriously, why the long wait? The good thing is that CBR states that it’ll be available to both buy and rent, which is important. Usually when films are released digitally in advance it is only to buy, not rent, and those of us who don’t wish to purchase a license to view something whenever (not own, you never actually own anything with digital, mind you) but simply view, will be able to do so as well.
So if you have a good friend who refuses return any messages or cancels plans on Tuesday, you’ll know why. Deadpool came out.
