The remake of The Magnificent Seven, which was a reimagining of Akira Kurosawa’s classic Seven Samurai, has finally released some production pictures, and Denzel Washington officially looks like a badass. The western, is a Training Day reunion of sorts, with Ethan Hawke and Denzel Washington opposite each other for the first time since director Antoine Fuqua led Hawke to an Academy Award nomination and Denzel to a win.
The big story, however, is Denzel’s (the world is on a first-name basis with Mr. Washington) sideburns. Fuqua and Denzel went to Mayweather vs Pacquiao last year during filming, and Washington embodying his character through some sweet chops enthralled the audience around them.
“We went to that boxing match in Vegas, and people were seeing Denzel with the chops and were like, ‘What’s going on?’ I was saying to myself, ‘Wait till they see him in full glory.’ He looks great. Denzel just locked into that look.”
Yeah, we’re pumped. Now look at Denzel and Chris Pratt in what would probably be the weirdest and most-watched Parks and Rec episode that will never happen.
Burt Macklin has retired from the FBI and is headed out west in search of some vigilante justice.
