Marine biologists have been fretting over the prospect of the public going mad for blue tang fish as a spinoff from the release of Finding Dory, but there might be a less species endangering way to have your own Dory at home. It just might not be what you’d expect.
Makeup artist/YouTube star Chrisspy has unveiled a video tutorial showing how she was able to transform herself into Pixar’s beloved forgetful fish. It’s both a fascinating and sometimes mega-creepy watch. How do you mentally steel yourself for a woman with a fish head talking to you? You can’t. Unless you’re Dory, it’s gonna be hard to shake the image of human eyes blinking while a pair of unblinking fish eyes stare back into your very soul.
“Finding Nemo is one of my favorite Disney/Pixar movies,” explains Chrisspy off the hop. “I was excited about the move and I just thought it would be fun to challenge myself and see if I could transform into Dory.”
Chrisspy, who really has pulled off something remarkable, also shared that she’d love for Ellen DeGeneres (the voice of Dory) to see this transformation. Seeing as this video has notched over 130,000 views since yesterday, that seems a likely possibility.
Check out the video above to see how Chrisspy starts from here (yes, that’s a glue stick.) and metamorphosizes into a Dory doppelgänger.
