Thanks to the success of Taken (the movie about Liam Neeson and the perils of taking!), we’ve seen a ripe bounty of motion pictures that double as wet dreams for dads that want to WHOOP SOME ASS in the name of family protection. Mel Gibson has one of those sorts of films at the ready and a fresh new trailer shows Mad Mel in full-on protective dad mode complete with a “he seems like a tough customer” beard.
The latest trailer for Blood Father (clever!) boasts ol’ MelGi as a dad trying to save his estranged teenage daughter (played by Erin Moriarty) from drug dealers and an assembly line of dangerous situations. Hey, is that William H. Macy as a gun-toting redneck? It is! The preview seems to suggest things might not go swimmingly for Bill Macy, so we suspect his screentime might be a tad limited in this Jean-François Richet-directed action thriller.
As a public service, we have the new peek at Blood Father nestled at the top of the page to watch at your leisure. Possibly with your estranged drug-addicted daughter. Blood Father is slated to hit theaters in all its Mel Gibson vs. Mean Younglings glory on August 12.
