You want to see your favorite band live for as long as possible. In theory, at least. I love Tom Waits, but even I’d get bored if he started dipping into Night on Earth material, let alone performing a five-hour set. While playing the Roskilde Music Festival this weekend, the Africa Express collective, featuring Blur’s Damon Albarn and Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ Nick Zinner, among others, hit the stage around 11 p.m. and didn’t depart until 4 a.m. And even then, it wasn’t by choice: A security guard literally had to pick up Albarn to get him to leave.
I imagine he was thrown into a Sarlacc Pit, but with more corporate branding.
