If you take one thing away from the most recent Carpool Karaoke on The Late Late Show, it should be that Adele is a lot of fun. She also enjoys a drink or two. If you already knew that, just sit back and enjoy her wonderful voice.
She shows just how easily she can belt these songs out, just riding around and shooting the sh*t with James Corden. In between the songs, Adele just drops a few wonderful tales about her drinking adventures, her old-school Spice Girls parties, and the possibility of doing an album when she’s 77.
Corden mostly drops the hits for Adele to sing during their little cruise, but they do tackle “Wannabe” by the Spice Girls in spectacular fashion. There’s also a bit of surprise when Adele starts to rap Nicki Minaj’s verse from Kanye West’s “Monster.” And you know what, James Corden is a pretty good singer too. It all blends nicely.
Put Adele’s squad up against Taylor Swift’s any day. We’d all be willing to ride around with them to get tacos and sing songs before dropping in on Tay Tay and beating ass. Then we could all get more tacos. It’d be beautiful.
