Grammy approved tearmonger Adele notched an instant blockbuster on Friday with the debut of her new single “Hello” and the accompanying music video featuring a telephone. This development quickly gave birth to a new mashup video that combines Adele’s promo for “Hello” with Lionel Richie’s legendary “Hello” clip because how could you not?
Clocking in at a brisk 11 seconds, “Lionel calls Adele to say Hello” features the two artists communicating on their respective telephones. Well, “communicating” is a bit of a strong word. It’s more of a brief exchange followed by the cruelest flip phone slam in novelty video history. Sadly, Adele does not create a Lionel Richie head sculpture in the clip.
