What’s the point of winning a Nobel Prize if you’re not going to make a big fuss about it? Bob Dylan has been relatively tight-lipped since word tumbled out that he was chosen to receive the Nobel Prize in Literature, although there has been no shortage of folks that have shared their thoughts on the Love & Theft tune vendor’s new honor. It took a while, but Dylan has finally piped up about this addition to his warehouse of trophies.
“It’s hard to believe,” noted the American music legend when chatting with The Telegraph. He also said being told he earned the prestigious honor was “amazing, incredible. Whoever dreams about something like that?”
As for if he will show up to the ceremony in Stockholm?
“Absolutely,” answered Dylan. Of course, that “absolutely” was followed with a gentle dusting of doubt. “If it’s at all possible.”
The Nobel Foundation released a statement confirming that they’ve also heard from the acclaimed songwriter. He had some very nice things to say about the Nobel Prize to them as well.
“The news about the Nobel Prize left me speechless”, he told the Permanent Secretary of the Swedish Academy. “I appreciate the honor so much.”
No word yet on how much of the attached £750,000 prize will be spent on facial hair consultants. Dude appreciates mustache grooming.
