Topping Bert & Ernie rapping Warren G’s “Regulate” is probably impossible, but Bugs Bunny taking on 2pac’s most ominous track sure comes close. The latest mashup from the king of ruining your childhood, YouTube user IsThisHowYouGoViral, drops the Looney Tunes flagship character over “Hail Mary” and the results are damn near perfect.
The mad genius explained his reasoning behind moving away from the Muppets for his latest clip.
“Since this is my first time doing a Pac song, I made sure to freakin’ bring it. I wanted an iconic character to match, and who better than Bugs? 2Pac was so damn good at rapping, that even the stuff that he never planned on releasing, was all amazing,” he said. “R.I.P. to one of the all-time greats. If anyone could point me in the direction of a modern rapper who could even remotely hold a candle to Pac, it would be greatly appreciated.”
Not to mention, Bugs Bunny is clearly a fan of ’90s hip-hop culture. Just ask literally any t-shirt produced from 1990 to 1998. And hey, Bugs clearly doesn’t discriminate; his take on 50 Cent’s “Many Men” is proof. And let us never forget that Jay Z once wrote rhymes for him.
