Scottish EDM colossus Calvin Harris has been temporarily sidelined following a car accident Friday night in Los Angeles.
The “This Is What You Came For” tune vendor was taken to hospital due to a collision where Harris was seated as a passenger in a Cadillac SUV. According to TMZ‘s law enforcement sources, the incident occurred when a 16-year-old driver crossed the center line in her VW bug convertible and struck the SUV. Harris reportedly suffered a nasty laceration on his face, but TMZ says the stadium-filler elected to split from the hospital (against medical advice) when a private room was not available.
Understandably, being in a car wreck has thrown a monkey wrench into Harris’ immediate plans. The reason why he was on the road last night was to get to the airport for his gig in Las Vegas, a show that was promptly scrapped with a message explaining that Harris will be resting for the next little bit.
The accident will also keep Harris from his headlining slot at this year’s Hangout Music Festival. Employing a bit of frontier schedule retooling medicine, the Alabama shindig will now have Panic! At The Disco sub in for Harris tonight’s Saturday slot.
Calvin Harris is unable to perform tonight. All of us at Hangout wish him and everyone involved in last night's collision a speedy recovery.
