Camila Cabello has plenty of reason to celebrate: Although leaving Fifth Harmony may have been a big bet on herself, she’s really cashing in now. “Havana” is one of the biggest songs in the world and she just released her debut album, so she deserves to bask in her success. That’s what she did on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon last night when she took part in a time-honored tradition: She, Fallon, and The Roots grabbed a bunch of kiddie instruments and performed a classroom version of her huge hit.
With Cabello on plastic lemon shaker, Fallon on wood block, and The Roots on various other mostly plastic things, the group tore through a super fun rendition of “Havana.” They kept it pretty short (the performance lasts less than two minutes), probably because Young Thug wasn’t around to perform his part of the song. That’s no matter, though, because two minutes is long enough to get the gist of the rendition across and have some good, clean fun.
All in all, it’s good to see things going well for Cabello, because her departure from Fifth Harmony early last year was messy, and it really took its toll on the singer. Now, playing a lemon shaker with Fallon and The Roots, it doesn’t seem like things could be much happier than the are now.
