Things often go wrong during live televised events — sometimes a signal drops, sometimes the talent flubs its lines, and sometimes the person in charge of the seven-second delay falls asleep at the wheel while Ed Sheeran talks about c*ck-blocking.
That’s what happened on E!’s red carpet special before the Billboard Music Awards. Giuliana Rancic was talking to Sheeran about how, according to Spotify, his music is hugely popular for people trying to fall asleep, which led to Sheeran defending his catalogue as something people have sex to. Except, apparently, his female cousin. This nameless cousin can’t go home with a guy without said guy playing Sheeran’s music to help set the mood. Since normal people don’t really want to be thinking about family members during sex, Sheeran’s cousin always winds up with an aural cold shower thanks to her super-famous relative.
But that’s not what’s important. What’s important is that someone said a curse word on TV and someone else let it air, which will never not be funny because we are a nation of 13-year-olds. Enjoy.
