In case you didn’t spend all your time reading Spin at the turn of the millennium, Ryan Adams threw a fan out of one of his concerts in 2002 for requesting that he cover “Summer of ’69,” because, you see, his name sounds Bryan Adams. That heckler is probably the same guy who yells “FREEBIRD” at every show.
Anyway, Ryan Adams claims he went into therapy for the “whole Bryan Adams ‘Summer of ’69’ thing,” and it must have worked, because he recently covered “Run to You” by…Bryan Adams. Which 1980s musical icon will he pay tribute to next? Here’s hoping for some Loverboy.
