A lot of people who follow politics felt that the 2010 political season produced some of the dirtiest, most offensive political ads in the history of politics. If this new one is any indication, the upcoming election season will raise the “WTF?!” bar even higher.
In what Slate’s Dave Weigel is terming, accurately I think, as “the most offensive political ad ever,” conservative filmmaker Ladd Ehlinger, Jr. — the man responsible for this hilarious gem in 2010 — has now produced an attack ad against Democratic Los Angeles Councilmember Janice Hahn, who’s running for a state senate seat against Republican Craig Huey, for her involvement in a gang intervention program. It features some black guys rapping “give us your cash bitch” while they take money from a white stripper, presumably meant to represent Hahn, so that they can buy guns and drugs, because that’s what black guys do, you see.
Ehlinger Jr., meanwhile, isn’t having second thoughts. He say that if YouTube pulls it, he’ll just put it on Vimeo or something.
I didn’t kill anyone. I didn’t even enable anyone to kill anyone. And… oh yeah: suck it! The ad’s funny. It makes me laugh. So if, for some reason, it’s pulled by YouTube, a thousand will be launched in its place all over Algorez’ Internetz.
Sounds like a swell guy.
