It was one year ago today that Adam “MCA” Yauch passed away. Go ahead, find your copy of Check Your Head. We’ll wait…Welcome back. Anyway, in 2004, the New York Times wrote a negative review of the music video for the Beastie Boys’ “Ch-Check It Out.” MCA was having none of that, and wrote a letter to the Grey Lady as Nathanial Hörnblowér, explaining why they were wrong and how the video is “big time good.” It’s fantastic.
