For years, Frank Ocean has kept music fans waiting semi-patiently for his follow up to Channel Orange in Boys Don’t Cry. At times, it has seemed like it was on the verge of being dropped, especially with the Apple Music livestream of Frank building… something, but then Ocean did not make our dreams come true. Well, you can’t stop waiting, but you can let somebody else bear the burden of constantly checking for Ocean to finally release his album.
According to Billboard, A gentleman named Shahzeb Kahn has started a service that “automatically looks at Spotify, iTunes, and Twitter for the latest in Frank Ocean news. The second it detects that a new album has gone live, it will automatically send everyone a text with the link for the album.” Basically, instead of having to constantly refresh your various feeds, you can just wait for this service to text you. Kahn does say the phone numbers are stored in a secure database, and you can stop the texts anytime you want.
If you absolutely must find out about Ocean’s album dropping immediately, then perhaps this service is for you. Or you could just keep an eye on your Twitter feed and maybe you are two minutes late to the news. Either way, if it takes four days or four months until we finally get to hear Boys Don’t Cry, you’ll be able to hear it first.
