The reality of our current political system in America is that in order to get things done, in order to get laws passed favorable to your cause, you’ve got to have some money, power and influence behind you. Let’s face it, lobbyists for industries and special interests run this country. Yes, it’s abhorrent, but it’s the way things are. Real talk. That’s America, y’all!
With that said, one of the big hurdles that has always faced proponents of the legalization of marijuana is organizing a coherent message behind a single powerful leader or group of leaders. But now, finally, a marijuana messiah of sorts has emerged from the smoke-filled shadows to claim the leadership role: Snoop Dogg, fresh from appearing on The Price Is Right, explained to a radio host over the weekend exactly how he’d handle a meeting with President Obama to discuss legalizing weed.

…
We get that understanding that this is what needs to happen in order to make the world go ’round. You gotta be real superficial about certain laws. They legalized alcohol, they legalized tobacco. What is it gonna hurt to legalize this medicinal, medical marijuana that’s used for purposes of cataracts.
I, for one, have faith in Snoop.
