“Reality TV” by Ohio-bred band Sports was low-key (and maybe high-key) one of the best songs of 2015. Coming off of their supposedly final album All Of Something, it was an infectious way to end an all-too-short career. However, it looks like the reports of the band’s death have been greatly exaggerated. The formerly scattered members have reunited for a bit of a mini-tour and just put out a music video for the bouncy cut.
The music video comes at a time when the group’s sold-out discography is getting cassette reissues via Father/Daughter Records. Both All of Something and their debut Sunchokes are being re-released into the world. The latter is also making its way onto streaming platforms like Spotify for the first time. And if you hate cassettes, but love Sports, there’s still a vinyl version floating around here.
Check out the trippy video for”Reality TV” up top and take a look back at the band’s strong showing in our end-of-year album list. And if you happen to be near in the Mid-Atlantic region don’t miss the band when they come through.
