David Letterman’s been doing Late Show for so long now that he must completely tune out whenever he’s not onscreen. I bet he hasn’t heard a single note played by a band on his show since Wreckx-n-Effect were tearing up the charts. But he must have at least noticed Wavves, if only to admire/be terrified by guitarist Stephen Pope’s hair. It looks he stapled an exploded poodle on his scalp — and paired it with a tie-dyed Metallica shirt.
It’s a good look, but “Demon to Lean,” from Wavves’ new album Afraid of Heights, is even better.
