Dating a Kardashian/Jenner definitely has its perks and landing a record deal with one of music’s biggest stars is now one of them. Tyga’s social climbing paid off Wednesday night when Kanye West revealed his future brother-in-law was the newest G.O.O.D. Music rapper. Kanye made the surprising announcement at the pop-up shop/after party for his disastrous Yeezy Season 4 Fashion show where fellow G.O.O.D. Music artists performed.
Tyga’s G.O.O.D move shouldn’t be too surprising, though it still kind of is because Tyga is, well, Tyga. The rappers have been close friends ever since T-Raww began dating Kim Kardashian’s then-underaged sister Kylie Jenner in 2014. The friendship blossomed and lead to Kanye executive producing the “Rack City” rapper’s last studio album, The Gold Album: 18th Dynasty. Earlier this year, Tyga credited Kanye with helping him end his feud with Drake, telling Real 92.3, “[Kanye] put us in a room together when he was doing his fashion show… We gave each other a hug and just chopped it up.” It’ll be interesting to see what kind of work Tyga puts out as a G.O.O.D rapper now. Who know…maybe he’ll even get some respect now that he’s with Kanye.
G.O.O.D. Music President Pusha T also made an announcement at the pop-up shop. No, it wasn’t King Push‘s release date. Seriously, WTF? Anyway, hitmakers Migos are now part of the label, somewhat. While the trio is still signed to 300, Pusha revealed Migos signed a G.O.O.D Music management deal. This basically means Migos is about to be in Vogue magazine, front row at all the fashion shows and maybe in a celebrity relationship or two. The ultimate come-up!
