Be careful, Sin Cara, don’t hurt yourself trying to lift up a dog.
So far, WWE’s attempts to be a film studio have been pretty lackluster. WWE Studios only seems to make movies where John Cena gets to hold guns, cornball comedies where everyone involved looks stupid or non-wrestling action movies featuring stars on a career downslide. They tried to make a good movie exactly once and the only thing anybody remembers from it is Randy Orton’s bad line-reading.
That’s all about to change, though, because the newest effort from WWE Studios is SCOOBY DOO WRESTLEMANIA MYSTERY, a direct-to-DVD animated movie where Scooby Doo solves mysteries at WrestleMania. Mysteries about A GHOST BEAR. A ghost bear who is ALSO ON FIRE. AND SIN CARA IS THERE.
Here’s the trailer, in case you thought “Sin Cara and Scooby Doo team up to fight an enflamed ghost bear” was too beautiful a dream:
The best part is the cover art. Take a quick look in the background and see who the WWE Champion is:
Of course it’s him. If TLC doesn’t end with Triple H as the undisputed champion (going over WWE’s two biggest stars in its advertised “biggest match ever”), everything Scooby Doo has taught me will be a lie. Sandwiches won’t taste good, meddling kids won’t solve every problem and bookish girls in glasses aren’t the hottest.
I really hope their next movie features The Shield jumping Jabberjaw.
