After rumors surfaced over the weekend, Monday morning brought reports that Robert Griffin III would be backing up Kirk Cousins in the Washington Redskins‘ first regular season game, according to multiple sources.

Griffin, who was Washington’s second overall pick in 2012, has struggled to stay healthy so far in his short NFL career, and it looks like the Redskins may be ready to move on from the former Baylor stud who was supposed to be their franchise quarterback. Recent rumors have the team’s front office and coaching staff willing to trade Griffin, who may not even yield much in return.

But despite losing his starting job (and possibly a spot on the roster), Griffin is still featured on the Redskins’ Week 1 season tickets, because Redskins!

We’re not even into the regular season yet, and the team’s dysfunction is already in midseason form. Could anyone even blame RGIII if he was eager to punch his ticket out of D.C. at this point?
