San Francisco running back Reggie Bush has battled with injuries his entire professional career. However, he’s never suffered one as strange as the one he suffered during Sunday’s game against the Rams in St. Louis. Bush was forced out of bounds, and before he could slow himself down, he slipped on the concrete strip on the perimeter of the field at the Edward Jones Dome.
After he lost his footing, Bush slid right into the wall, and looked to have injured his leg. He has officially been diagnosed with a knee injury, and his return is questionable.
Reggie Bush (knee) is questionable to return.

This is the second week in a row that a St. Louis opponent went into the wall and got banged up – during last week’s game, Cleveland quarterback Josh McCown couldn’t slow himself down before he got to the wall and needed a second to shake himself off. Whether it’s just been two weeks of flukey stuff happening or the Rams have a legitimate issue with that concrete strip around the outside of the field is up for debate, but it is pretty weird that we’ve had two players run into issues with slowing themselves down that have led to injuries in consecutive games.
UPDATE: Bush is feared to have torn his ACL on the play, which would effectively end his season. Brutal.
#49ers RB Reggie Bush is believed to have suffered a torn ACL, sources say. He'll have an MRI to confirm. Very rough.
