After playing a game in front of an empty Camden Yards, the Baltimore Orioles have found themselves enveloped in the discussion about the unrest in Baltimore. In an interview with PBS, Orioles Executive John Angelos spoke out against the systemic injustice that lies at the core of the Baltimore unrest.
“In order for the United States to continue to hold itself out as the greatest country in the world, in order for it to hold itself as a country that stands for democracy, equal opportunity, and civil and human rights, it needs to provide equal economic opportunity for all people, and if the system is failing some of us, it’s failing all of us.”
Angelos took to Twitter earlier this week to articulate the economic and civic injustices brought against the working class in Baltimore.
