And just when you thought the NFL offseason was arrests and free agency in walks Rex Ryan and the Buffalo Bills with an absolute blockbuster of a trade. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Bills have acquired Eagles RB LeSean McCoy in exchange for linebacker Kiko Alonzo. The deal won’t be official until Monday when the new season begins.
Filed to ESPN: Bills have notified LB Kiko Alonso he is going to be traded to Philadelphia for RB LeSean McCoy. Trade official next week.

On one hand, this shores up Philly’s defensive problems up front. Alonzo looked very impressive in 2013 and was the defensive rookie of the year. On the other hand, he’s coming off a serious ACL tear in August and who knows if he’ll be the same player. Also, you’re giving up Shady McCoy, a guy who probably has two or three very good years left in him.
This explains some of Chip Kelly’s reasoning.
Chip Kelly not a fan of McCoy's contract – one of highest in NFL for a RB – and Eagles part w/huge offensive cog for 2nd straight offseason

Not sure that’s much of a comfort to Eagles fans.
