Depending on who you ask, Cam Newton is either the greatest person on earth or the physical manifestation of Satan. Those are both super extreme positions, of course, but in all seriousness Newton seems like a pretty good dude.
The latest example of this came a few days back, when a video hit the Internet of Newton hanging out with a kid named Noah. This wasn’t a spontaneous act of Cam-ness, like the time he noticed that a middle schooler was wearing his jersey, jumped over a fence and threw a football around with a bunch of students.
Instead, Noah’s Make-A-Wish request was to meet the reigning NFL MVP. Noah was born with a disorder called Klippel-Trenaunay syndrome and, additionally, suffers from a protein deficiency and blood clots. Newton granted the wish, so Noah and his family flew to North Carolina and had a pretty cool day. They went to Bank of America Stadium, where they got a tour of the place and met two of Newton’s teammates, Kelvin Benjamin and Stephen Hill.
The group then went to a bowling alley, where Newton met up with them. The day ended with Noah’s family joining Newton in a box at a Charlotte Hornets game. It kind of goes without saying, but this was a day that Noah will never forget.
Love or hate Newton, he seems to be really great around children. Between the stuff he does for kids before, during, and after games, along with some of the off-the-field things he does for his younger fans, there’s something about being around kids that brings out the very best of Newton.
