Sports fandom can be good or bad. It could be bad, like when you tweet that you find a hockey team with the second-worst offense in the NHL boring and a fan of that team spends 11 hours looking for you to justify that stupid biased opinion, you stupid biased idiot.
Then there’s this video of Carolina Panthers fan Ked Woodley singing a song he wrote himself about, well, you guessed it, the Carolina Panthers. Without giving away too much, for this video must be experienced while knowing as little as possible about it before watching it, here’s a sample of the lyrics.
Carolina Panthers
With sharp teeth and claws
We growl to win this game
We call pro football
[growling noise]
It’s truly glorious. It’s simple, short, to the point and doesn’t fall into the trap of so many other modern self-made music videos. There are no graphics, no dancing women being objectified in string bikinis and at no point does Ked make it rain. This video is heartfelt, classy and the song will be stuck in your head until the day you die. Sorry about that.
The video was posted Dec. 19, but just this morning received a “#KeepPounding” comment from the official Panthers YouTube channel, so you know it’s good.
