The Chicago Bears found themselves at midfield with time running out in the first half against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and that is perfect territory to try a low-stakes hail mary. It’s an even better idea with a quarterback like Jay Cutler, who has a cannon for an arm. So, sure enough, Cutler heaved it into the end zone, and Cameron Meredith had the incredible coordination to catch it off a tip.

The score brought the Bears to within one score heading into the locker room, but this play is obviously about more than the scoreboard.
