Cleveland Indians pitcher Corey Kluber reached a rare pitching milestone on Wednesday night by striking out 18 batters in a 2-0 shutout victory over the St. Louis Cardinals. He is now one of only 19 pitchers in Major League Baseball history to strike out 18. Even more impressive is the fact that he is the first American Leaguer to do so since Roger Clemens did it in 1998.

Kluber’s stuff was so dominant that he didn’t even give up his first hit until the seventh inning. His 18 K’s also helped the Indians become just the second team since 1900 with over 19 strikeouts and one-or-zero hits in a game.
Tonight, #Indians became 2nd team in Modern Era (since 1900) w/ 19+K's & one-or-zero hits, joining #Cubs on 5/6/98 vs. HOU (Elias)
