Kinky Friedman is one of those old time folk heroes that seem to hold many hats to their names. He’s a country singer, politician, satirist, and most importantly, a Texan. Not born and raised, but he’s about as Texas as they come these days and he’s a fan of Dallas Cowboys.
That’s why he found himself on ESPN’s Outside The Lines with Bob Ley, talking about Chris Christie and Jerry Jones for some reason. That’s when he said the following:
“Jerry Jones and Chris Christie are probably the most important, latent homosexual relationship since Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson.”
Now in light of everything else I’ve heard since Sunday’s game, that’s tame. It is on national television, though, so I guess it carries more weight. I just like that Kinky Friedman was on Outside The Lines to talk about sports. It just seems to be an odd choice. Not as odd as seeing Chris Christie in his stupid sweater, but still pretty odd.
