As the sports world (and the world in general) comes to the terms with the unfortunate passing of Craig Sager, we’ve already seen scores of wonderful, touching, heartfelt tributes, and we’re likely to see a whole lot more in the coming days and weeks. Steve Kerr led Warriors fans in a glorious “moment of joy” at Oracle Arena in Sager’s honor, and of course everyone in the NBA or associated with it has amazing memories of the man and his sartorial choices.
Indeed, the icon of Sager as a bizarre, phenomenal fashion plate may be the most lasting impression he leaves on the world, ultimately. Lions receiver Golden Tate will pay homage to the man and his one-of-a-kind style legacy with these incredible cleats that he will wear on Sunday.
Those are kicks that anyone would be happy to wear, any day of the year, and they are perhaps the most fitting tribute I can think of from a uniform standpoint. I’m sure Sager himself would approve … and he would happily wear the matching suit.
