The war of words between Cris Cyborg and Ronda Rousey calmed down quite a bit after Ronda Rousey lost her belt to Holly Holm last November. After that, Cyborg declared she was done with talks of going down to 135 pounds. And after making her successful UFC debut at a 140 pound catchweight, she didn’t even mention Ronda Rousey in her post-fight interview.
“I believe that it was my moment, tonight was my moment and it was historic,” she said later during a press conference. “Talking about [Rousey] is not something…it’s something people are going to talk about, but I let my fans decide who my opponent will be and I just be ready.”
That being said, Cyborg isn’t completely done calling out Ronda Rousey. She just posted this video on her Instagram account featuring her doing the Running Man, the biggest social media dance craze to hit since the Harlem Shake. But in Cyborg’s version, she’s doing the Running Woman, and as she’s implied in past social media trolls, the woman running from her is Ronda Rousey.

It was captioned “Running Man challenge…all the way to New York! Share the post if you want to see this fight! @ufc #ufc205”
UFC 205 is the UFC’s historic first fight in New York at Madison Square Garden. Ronda Rousey has long been rumored to headline that card, with UFC president Dana White saying she’ll face off against whoever is holding the 135 pound belt at the time. Meanwhile, Cris Cyborg is committed to holding the 145 pound women’s featherweight belt and developing that division. So it’s doubtful a fight between the two will happen then.
One thing is for sure though: Cris Cyborg isn’t done calling out Ronda Rousey for refusing to fight her. And with the UFC now okay with her appearing on their cards at a 140 pound catchweight, Cyborg’s voice will only get louder with each dominating victory.
