DeMarco Murray is on his way to Philadelphia with the intent to sign a contract with the Eagles, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Earlier this week, the free agent running back seemed to take exception to the Dallas Cowboys’ failure to make him a him a contract offer by scrubbing all references to either “Dallas” or “Cowboys” from his Twitter bio. It now seems his passive-aggressiveness may have foreshadowed his eventual divorce from the team completely.
According to Schefter, Murray would still consider a last minute contract offer from the Cowboys, but barring that or anything unforeseen, Murray will be joining the Eagles to fill the running back void left after their trade of LeSean McCoy to Buffalo.
UPDATE: Adam Schefter has reported via Twitter that Murray has indeed signed with the Eagles. Contract terms are expected to be 5 years, $42 million, including $21 million guaranteed.
