Dez Bryant was feeling himself at practice the other day, declaring to the Dallas Cowboys defense, “You can’t guard me.” He said it repeatedly as the secondary he was calling out just stood there and offered no defense, so it looks like those DBs are in regular-season form already.

Trash talk at a football practice is no big deal and happens routinely during training camp. It’s just odd that a member of the second-worst offense in the NFL in 2015 had this much to say in August. A guy with 31 catches in nine games last season sure had a lot to say for a guy with 31 catches in nine games last season.

Give credit to linebacker Sean Lee, who has the posture of a man ready to put his forearm in Bryant’s face, but instead just walks him off the field. I like to think that Lee was quietly whispering, “They can’t guard you. But you know who can? The turf at Lambeau Field. It had you covered and defensed pretty well that day, didn’t it?”
