Martavis Bryant probably thought he easily had the catch of the postseason in the Steelers’ win over the Bengals on Saturday night, but the Seahawks’ Doug Baldwin may have just surpassed him with this incredible one-handed jumping grab on third down to keep a Seahawks drive going early in the third quarter.
Russell Wilson’s pass was high and initially looked like it might even be intercepted or at least fall incomplete, but Baldwin was somehow able to make an adjustment on it, leap up and snatch it with his glove while maintaining control on the way down. To make it even better, Baldwin went all the way up without knowing if anyone behind him was there to blast him in mid-air.
Seattle had been struggling immensely to get anything going on the offensive end, thanks in large part to the frigid temperatures in Minnesota that are freezing everything, as they were shutout in the first half and and could barely move the ball upfield and make any serious threat to get in the end zone. They couldn’t even punt the ball correctly.
Thankfully for the Seahawks, however, their defense kept them in the game and Baldwin’s catch may be just what they needed to kick start their offense.
