If LeBron James has taught us anything, it’s that everyone wants to see what pro athletes look like naked. For this, we thank ESPN and their magazine’s annual Body Issue, for affording fans that opportunity with the informed consent of the naked ones, and without pesky concerns like “Is this pornography?” and “Is it tastefully done?”
Headlining the chosen 24 athletes are New York Giants wide receiver and Madden coverboy Odell Beckham, Jr., Washington Nationals superstud outfielder Bryce Harper, U.S. Women’s soccer player Ali Krieger, and Phoenix Mercury center Brittney Griner, all of whom are pictured below. ESPN’s announcement also included a video trailer for the issue, which can be viewed here.
The other 20 athletes are:
- Cleveland Cavaliers forward Kevin Love
- Los Angeles Clippers center DeAndre Jordan
- Olympic gymnast Aly Reisman
- Dallas Stars center Tyler Seguin
- Olympic swimmer Natalie Coughlin
- French Open champion tennis player Stanislas Wawrinka
- Indianapolis Colts offensive linemen Anthony Castonzo, Jack Mewhort and Todd Herremans
- U.S. Men’s National Team soccer player Jermaine Jones
- Wakeboarder Dallas Friday
- Rugby flanker Todd Clever
- Skateboarder Leticia Bufoni
- Golfer Sadena Parks
- Archer Khatuna Lorig
- Olympic field-hockey player Paige Selenski
- Olympic hammer-thrower Amanda Bingson
- Olympic heptathlete Chantae McMillan
- Beach-volleyball player Gabby Reece
- Surfer Laird Hamilton (Reece’s husband)
The Body Issue will be published online July 6 and in print July 10.
