I’m going to go out on a limb and guess that you missed Friday’s American Association of Independent Professional Baseball game between the St. Paul Saints and the Fargo-Moorhead Redhawks. It certainly seemed like a good game – the Saints were able to get an 8-7 win – but we’re not here to talk about anything that happened on the field involving the players. Instead, we’re here to discuss a badass fan who made the play of the night.
One Redhawks player swung at a pitch, accidentally lost his grip on his bat and sent it flying into the stands down the first base line. Ninety-nine percent of the time, this ends in disaster, but this fan was able to throw his arm out and snag the flying piece of wood with one hand, all while making sure he didn’t spill his beer. Just making sure he was able to catch the bat was impressive enough, but to do it with one hand AND to make sure his beer was completely safe in his other hand really brings this to another level.
