Valentine’s Day is an opportunity to spread love, giving the person you most care about a reminder that they hold a special place in your heart. And while you may want to make that message clear with a tangible gift like a piece of jewelry, some of us aren’t great at picking out the right presents. If that sentiment describes you, don’t worry. We’re here to show you that you’re in good company.

In the above video (and in others to follow in the coming days), you’ll see a collection of current and former pro football players that UPROXX and PANDORA Jewelry enlisted to talk about their experiences dropping the metaphorical ball. The lineup? Defensive end Michael Brockers, former tight end DajLeon Farr, and former star return specialist Devin Hester. They’ll let you know about some of their gift giving lowlights in the hopes that you won’t follow in their footsteps. Like, for instance, the time DajLeon Farr thought the best way to someone’s heart was by giving them a sweet treat.

“Gave her a box of chocolates, and her face swell up,” Farr recalls. “I didn’t know she was allergic to peanut butter.”

Obviously, that’s not the kind of reaction any one wants on Valentine’s Day. Instead, you want to get that smile that says they know you care. And if you heed these warnings, you should be able to make out like a champ this Valentine’s Day.

Check out the gift options over at PANDORA Jewelry to make sure you don’t drop the ball this Valentine’s Day.
