Sunday’s contest between the Giants and Saints in New Orleans resembles more of a bizarre sporting circus than a professional football game, but it’s been a thoroughly entertaining ride. It’s been the highest scoring game of the year by far, with both teams combining for an estimated four million points. Drew Brees has also thrown for 65 touchdowns.
But the craziest play of the game may have come in the fourth quarter when Brees connected on a pass to receiver Willie Snead, who immediately got popped by a Giants defensive back. The hit jarred the ball lose from the grip of Snead and straight into the hands of Trumaine McBride, who took it all the way to the house for six points.
The play was ruled a catch and a fumble as opposed to an interception, which is great news for those who were fortunate enough to have Brees on their fantasy team(s) this weekend.
