Nieky “The Natural” Holzken is a welterweight kickboxer fighting under the Glory World Series banner. In addition to his perfectly coiffed hair, he also sports an equally-impressive 91-11 record, with 53 knockout wins.
Back in 2013, Holzken defeated Joseph Valtellini to win the Glory Welterweight Championship tournament. Holzken was set to fight for the title in 2014, but a shoulder injury due to a car accident sidelined him for almost a year.
In February, at Glory 19, Holzken defeated Raymond “The Real Deal” Daniels in the finals of a welterweight contender tournament. He was supposed to rematch Valtellini, but “Bazooka Joe” vacated his title in June 2015, unfortunately due to post-concussion syndrome.
Now, Holzken rematches Daniels at Glory 23, with the Welterweight Championship on the line. To get you hyped for the bout, Glory has released a mini-documentary following Holzken in his day-to-day life in Holland. We get to see him and his family on Dutch camping vacation, including his daughter, who Holzken says is “a little Ronda Rousey.” Despite being on vacation and a sweltering heat wave in Holland, Holzken still has to train, five three-minute rounds of beating up his trainer. Glory 23 will be on Spike TV on August 7, starting at 11 p.m. EST. Remember, as Holzken says:
“After all the hard work, you have to tickle yourself sometimes. Because, if you don’t, you’ll never laugh.”
