Over the weekend, golf legend Greg Norman shared some pics on social media of an arm injury he suffered in a chainsaw accident. Norman, who owns a ranch in Colorado, says he’s been working with a chainsaw for years and was just doing some light trimming when the accident occurred.
“Working with a chainsaw ALWAYS be respectful of the unexpected. I was one lucky man today. Damaged, but not down & out. Still have left hand.”
Most chainsaw injuries occur because of kickback—the chainsaw’s blade catching on an object. Norman’s accident was more or less user error. And frankly, after hearing him describe to the injury on the Today show, I have no idea how he didn’t lose his arm.
In summary, a branch fell on the chainsaw sending it into Norman’s arm. Had Norman not turned off the saw seconds before, it would have sliced right through.
Happy Monday everyone.
