A wild Ligue Nord-Américaine de Hockey game between Rivière-du-Loup and Thetford Mines Isothermic over the weekend featured nine goals, 107 combined penalty minutes, and one awesomely badass air guitar solo in the penalty box.
There were four fights in the first 15 seconds of the game, so you know things got weird real fast. If you need proof, check out Thetford’s Joel Thériault, who was involved in the game’s first fight, busting out an air guitar shred session from the penalty box while his teammate duked it out with an opponent.
Thériault jammed out hard using his stick as a prop while Rammstein’s “Du Hast” played in the background, and it was amazing. That dude probably likes to party. Thériault may have gotten a bit too jacked up during the contest, though, as he was given a game misconduct after fighting again in the second period.
If you’re a fan of hockey, there’s a decent chance you have thoughts on fighting in the sport. Maybe you love it and think there should be more of it, or maybe you think it should be banned. As a hockey fan myself, I’ll tell you what the sport definitely needs more of: Air guitar performances.
Think about it: Score a goal? Air guitar. Make a big save? Air guitar. Win a fight? Air guitar. Spear a dude in the nuts? Air guitar. It’s not rocket science; air guitar works for everything.
