If Quincy Nieporte wasn’t already your favorite college baseball player, he should be after watching this video. In Sunday’s ACC Tournament championship game against North Carolina State, the FSU first baseman hit a double in the fifth inning. The hit came with two outs, and it didn’t score any runs. But that didn’t stop Nieporte from celebrating in the most brotastic way possible… by pretending to shotgun a can of beer.
The ‘Noles would go on to beat NC State 6-2 and win the ACC Tournament title, which set them up to host an NCAA regional as the No. 1 seed next weekend, but the real highlight of the day was Nieporte’s celebration on second base. If he isn’t allowed to have a few cold ones on Memorial Day weekend, pretending to shotgun some is a fine alternative in my book.
