Steelers linebacker James Harrison is freakishly strong. While he may not be the destructive player that he was a few years back, Harrison is still a serviceable NFL linebacker, partly because he’s pretty good at overpowering opponents.
So it makes sense that Harrison, who turns 38 next month, is able to put on a show in the weight room. We saw back in July that Harrison is able to bench press 505 pounds two times, and more recently, Harrison posted a video to his Instagram in which he did a 528 pound hip thrust.
Just look at Harrison do this like it’s the easiest thing on earth. Sure, he works to get the bar up, but once he gets going, this is nothing for the five-time Pro Bowl selection. By the time he’s done, Harrison does six reps. Of 528 pounds. At nearly 38 years old.
Odds are Harrison’s career is going to end within the next year or two, assuming he doesn’t need to keep coming out of retirement because the Steelers have injuries at linebacker, of course. Once he decides to hang his cleats up for good, here’s to hoping that Harrison travels across the country lifting silly amounts of weight for the rest of his life.
