Hey, if you can’t laugh at yourself, right?
We’re quickly closing in on two months since New York Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul had hisĀ right index finger amputated following a fireworks accident. Though the injury is not believed to be career-ending, exactly when JPP will return to the organization remains unclear. His communication with the Giants has been sparse, to the say the least, but the Giants’ pass rush in the preseason has been bad enough that JPP still has value. All of this makes for a pretty tense and dramatic situation.
Luckily, JPP was able to lighten the mood with a little bit of Twitter humor, um, pointed at himself:

Savage. Almost as much as Joel McHale’s ESPYs monologue, which took a harsh shot at JPP. Almost.
I don’t know if this was planned or a truly organic moment of comedy. Either way, JPP has no problems making fun of his own situation, which is a good thing I suppose. The overall situation between JPP and the Giants isn’t a laughing matter and may not end well.
