In case you’re living under a rock, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo broke his collarbone on Sunday after he was sacked in the third quarter against the Philadelphia Eagles. The injury means that the franchise quarterback will be out for several weeks, and that’s an obvious blow to the Cowboys this early in the season, especially with the team losing Dez Bryant to a broken foot last week.
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones spoke with the media following the confirmation that Romo had in fact broken his collarbone, and poor Jones will depress the heck out of you with these quotes describing how he felt upon hearing the diagnosis. This first one has a saying in it that I’m confident only Jerry Jones can get away with saying, and yet, it is probably a pretty spot on depiction of his emotions. It has the Jerry Jones uniqueness you’d expect, with a little ting of Texas flavor.
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones on how he felt when Tony Romo went down w/ fractured collarbone: "Just about as low as a crippled cricket’s ass."

All crippled crickets aside, these next ones are very, very sad.
Jerry Jones on Romo reaction: "I was feeling sorry for myself. I thought the world was picking on me. How could anybody be as bad off as me.

Jerry Jones said Tony Romo called him up in suite immediately after getting X-ray news: "We both were sick. It was just really hard."

Get better soon, Romo. Now that Dallas will have to turn to Brandon Weeden as its new starter, it’s likely that Jones won’t be cheering up anytime soon. Next up for the Romo-less Cowboys are the Atlanta Falcons, who they’ll face at home in Jerry World.
